id save some money and buy a actual wood stove  we a ll now how thin  a barrel is   look for one that is a  air tight  design you will get a lot more efficency out of it  and  will be alot safer to have in your new barn  j m o    i dont know how much the kit and barrels would cost but i have a nice shenandoa  round brick lined wood stove  for sale  i tryed to find a pic of it but cant find it

old school truck dude

Barrels dont last long, and thats pretty dangerous to have in a shop. I would get a regular wood stove, lots thicker.  ;D

i have been keeping my eye out for  real woodstove though

The one I've got is a console type works pretty damn good, I need a magic heat but it works good the way it is, paid 50 bucks for it

i've got an oldschool shenandoa square type woodstove man, it heats teh garage up really well, and it's been giving my family reliable service for over 30 years, wouldn't trade it for nothing man

Or buy some 1/4 steel and make one go like 24in wide 30in deep and 24in high put a grate in with about a 3in of clearance for ashes and put a hole in the side of it and line it with bricks, prolly cost ya 100 but it would be well worth it better than thin barrels

thats what ours is in our shop except ours has no fire brick works awesome tho, we just put a box fan behind it to blow the heat around a little better but it heats our 32x48 barn good (tho it is insulated)
Truck-$1200
Lift, Tires, Axles-$1000
Misc. Nuts & Bolts-$650
28 Cases Of Beer-$280

Bricks help a lot, and saves on wood

yup there good stoves  the auto draft control saves alot of wood and keeps the fire going

I heard of some people making a stove out of some Barrels. But they do one Barrel inside another Barrel with Water and pump water to a radiator.
