i know nonroller cam bearings r tapered and roller cam bearing r not and they move around thus the cam locking plate and/or cam button to stop it from moving. so if i put vortec heads on a nonroller cam motor i should b able to use regular roller rockers and not selfalligning roller rockers

because vortec heads do not use guide plates to keep the push rods in place. you either have to use self aligning rockers or buy guide plates and install them and you can use regular rocker arms.

yes, you need guide plates and can use regular rockers, but you need a small bodied rocker like the crane because of valve cover clearance
