Depends more on what size tire you run if you need to add the second tcase and now much power youbare making too.

What are your plans?
In need of a yank strap?  PM me... I have 'em!

right now i have a sbc pushing around 420 horse. then a turbo 350 trans and a 205 t-case. and i know also that the tires im getting are 18.4-26. the ones im getting are about half tread, a family friend has them and he's holding them for me until i work/pay them off. i also want to get lockers in both axles before i put them in, i dont want to do it a few months after.

but i also plan on in the future to run a bbc, but my piggy bank will have to have a bit more than it does now lol

the sbc would be great for now the 6.72 will make up for the 57" tires . save some $ and weld the rear . but not the front.

alright cool atleast i wont be losing as much power as i thought i was going to. cause i know my lil mouse motor is gunna have to work over-time pretty much all the time now lol. and yea that is good idea, i think i will save my self a few hundred bucks and just weld the rear  ;D thanks don

Rockwells themselves don't require more power.  In fact the higher gearing in them make it easier to turn the tires.
Its the larger tires that usually come with the Rockwells that require more power or a second tcase.

would i be ok if i ran a 18.4-26 tire on a 2.5 rockwell axle?

My s-10 I sold had a 355, 350 turbo/205  2.5s with lockers front and rear ,44 cut boggers. I never broke an axel. Only in clay would I run out of motor/ gear. Im building a new truck with 2.5s, bbc, 18.4x26 r2s, 400 tranny, divorsed t-case 2.6 to1 ratio and im not sure I might need more gear! and unless I upgrade axel shafts (at least the rear) Im going to brake them often. On this one im welding the rear and leaving the front open (it takes a lot of motor to turn all 4 tires). You probably dont have enough drop with A 205 for driveshafts with that much lift. Just my experience.

thats one of the best things about rockwells, angles dont get too crazy with the way the pinion is placed up high.

i run 2.5 rocks, 205 tcase,18.4 26,and a mild built bb . i can turn all 4 . the rear is welded and front is open but all 4 turn. the only problems i have is the rear shafts break sometimes when trying to pull big trucks ,dozer , 2 trucks at a time  or just being stupid. and i do run it in 4low.
