SBC Timing Chain Play

How much play is the timing chain supposed to have?    I have about 1/2''-3/4'' is this normal?  Thanks

with that much you can probly almost walk chain up and around top gear and off i think thats to much the tighter the better i normaly change mine with about a 1/4 to a 1/2 thats me though" I LIKE IT TIGHT" lmao like a gear to gear

yea its pretty close to being able to walk it, I was pretty sure it should be a hell of a lot tighter than that just wanted to double check before I replace it. Thanks
