ok, so i have an 86 monte carlo ss with a 305 ho. i have a few questions. i have the engine out, changing the cam, intake, carb and putting headers on it. This thing has a ton of wiring on it. I believe most of it i should be able to unhook and remove. This car is carburated, but it has knock sensor. when i put the engine back in, can i just bypass the knock sensor or do i need to run it? im planning on installing gear drive and was told im not able to run that with a gear drive set up? So my questions right now are about the knock sensor, and sence this car has a computer, if im able to remove all the wiring im not going to need anymore. thanks. GH

U can bypass knock sensor by wiring in a resistor to the correct ohms but remember that knock sensor also adjusts timing if its computer controlled slap a different dist. In there and your good to go and pull all wiring run it like old school motors
