Anyone use a DUI distributer?

A  buddy of mine was tellin me to get a dui distributer,  he says they will practically run under water.  I just put a brand new 406 in my truck and with the extra speed hittin the mud my dist. keeps gettin wet.  I have a rubber flap under the truck and spray the dist. with this gel spray stuff from the railroad and it still gets wet!  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

another idea is to get a ford  rubber cover for the distb... i ll find a picture or something and post here  thats might help it not getting wet

had a friend use one on a jeep and I think it still got wet...  try to make better water proofing to keep it dry and clean.. I use msd and it never gets wet but I have a box around my motor!

I use all msd stuff. and you can take  a garden hose hold over the dist,coli and will not miss  at all.  i thank when people use cheap stuff. is when you have problems. not say you need msd stuff, but good quietly stuff.

dui is basicaly the same as stock set up but better fire power still gonna get wet  need to seal  engine bay a bit

i never would run anything but a dui...as far as getting wet goes a peice of rubber over the dist with a few zip ties around the bottom seem to work pretty well i had the whole hood under the water out at budget boggers last summer and she never skipped a beat....i would also suggest running ur air intake into the cab if u like to get ballz deep otherwise u will be spending alot more money on your motor

silicone/permatex around the base of the dist.
wires, boots, towers and plugs..

I've taken one of the wifes dish washing gloves, nipped the fingers and stretched it over the cap n' wires too...

I run davis unified ignition distibuter I love it I thing they are better than msd, never had a problem with it getting wet, my plug wires were a different story, had a bad one with a cut in it, so that always caused a problem, but never a problem with the dui distributer

great info guys,  I really  appreciate it.  I think im gonna get the dui dist.  and then wrap it with some sort of rubber.  thanks for the input!
