transfer case/shifter ???

well im havin trouble getting the shifters  yes 2  for the tcase ive moved em around  and   tweaked em etc etc  and  i can only get 2 high  or 4 low  and that should be ok but  i wiould like the shifter to work propperly from inside the truck   its a divorced case   only id marking is a cast part number and it also has  G M 2  AND  when sitting under the truck lokking to the rear  the numbers are upside down on the case ?  so from what ive found online and in books the t case should be a 2 speed  but nothing about it only being 2wd high range  ??
