My friend has a 89' burban 1/2 ton. Will a 92' 1/2 ton blazer's steering box interchange with his burban?
I assume he's not looking to do any mods to make it fit, just wants to know if they will interchange no strings attached.

Thanks

is the blazer the older version square body?? or is it like the 88-98 chevy pickups? if its the older one then i dont see why it wouldnt work most of the parts back then were interchangable

I knew that All blazers from 87-91 had interchangeable parts. But idk about a 92. Cuz that was a completely different body style.

No. Older steering boxes use 4 bolts to mount, from 73-91. They also mount on the outside of the frame. 1992 and up use 3 bolts, and mount on the inside of the frame. This results in the mount flanges to be on opposite sides and won't mount to the frame.

And if the sub is a 4 wheel drive, they use a whole different steering setup than the newer ifs trucks.
