ok im doing solid motor mounts in my truck and need to know if i can have both the motor and trans mount solid or do i have to have a rubber mount for the trans the truck has a divorce t-case

best to isolate the motor/trans from that as best you can..

x3 if it has no place to flex then its gonna break something PERIOD...id rather replace my rubber trans mount once a year for 5 bucks than break tranny and t case housings

i gotta say that i agree that i'd rather replace rubber mounts than a cracked housing, there's a lot of flexing and twisting when your playing, there's been a couple times we've torn new rubber mounts out trailing, been happy the rubber was there to tear, buddy tried solid mounts on his truck, and tore off the back 4 inches of his tranny on the trail, after that we all use rubber mounts for everything

my thought on this. its not drag car where its hooking hard and you do not want flex in the car. its mud truck not hooking hard, but you are flexxing the frame and twisting in holes. its gm you can not have the motor come out of place, yes it can move couple inchs but still be place.  just put in new mounts call it good.

Been thru that w my sami it had solid motor mount then rubber mount on t case and i break rubber mount every two or three bogs i decide to fab a solid mount and never broke again except my bolt came loose several time i check em after every bog/wash

I tryed solid solid but kept twisting bellhousings. only thing I can figure is to much frame flex, my recomendation is poly mount if you don't have a full cage to help control frame flex. I'm poly mounted now and haven't had any problems since I went to poly mounts and that's all I changed everything else stayed the same.

ive  run solid mounts in my ranger but  not the tcaes mount that was  rubber .  never  had a propblem over  10 yrs.

We run solid motor mounts, but have rubber on the trans never had a problem, every trucck we have built is like that never had any issues
