Hey guys, in a few days I'll be to the point in my project where I'm going to need a steering set up. Wondering what is the easiest way to run hydraulic steering and not brake the bank? Do I just find someone parting out a tractor and fab it up to my set up or does someone have a system for sale like that? Can ya help me?

BAD APPLE

Go find a tractor junk yard get the orbital valve, hydraulic ram, and hydraulic lines, I got all that stuff for 50 at a local place, you can buy aftermarket set up and it probably comes with brackets but I'm sure its not cheap
no rest for the wicked

Cool. It's pretty easy to install and set up then? Also, these would be belt driven or electric pumps?

You can use your factory power steering pump you have to lines that run from the pump to the orbital then from the orbital down to the hydraulic ram but the after market kits come with a pump and I believe those are belt driven

Sweet. Thanks!

Lamrocks in Otisville always has valves for sale, hoses and fitting will be the biggest cost, mount your valve as close to your pump so you can run shorter hoses. Might need an extra resivior for ps fluid.

Shouldn't need a resevoir with the tractor parts but maybe the aftermarket set up

That would be sweet. I have a plasma cutter. Ya, ask him what he can find and hook me up. I appreciate it.

Now that I think about it Im going to caro after work I'll stop in and talk to him. U want just the orbital valve right? I'd get a ram from tsc and get new lines made up. What u want to spend on the valve?

the new style ford pumps, the plastic ones are pretty small the old style metal ones were bigger, may not be a issue just giving a heads up
