what type of fuel does this use?

my buddy just got this ice shack heater and was wondering what type of fuel that it used?  he says he dont see a name or model or how old it is, so if you just happen to know anything about it any info will be great. thanks.

I got one just like it, It was my grandpas, it uses coleman white gas, fill canister with white gas start fire inside with a little newspaper and open valve, it should fire up.

they work great, but with the price of white gas i think around 12-14 bucks a gallon, im thinking of converting mine to propane.

and i would guess it to be around 40 years old
