im guessing check valve on mine since it turns on when it needs to but just cant pump, so i have to turn it off before it blows the breaker.

has anyone changed a check valve in a compressor? I dont know much about them but im sure i can figure it out lol

good luck  Capt.    let us knw what you find :)

pm ur number ill talk u through it its simple i do it all day... prob got one in stock for u if ur close that is

shoot me a price on one or where I can get one around by me lol im in flint,  but if Im ever up there by you ill give ya shout, I dont really use this compressor but once in a while, Ive been using my big compressor for everything lol

oh and what would make a compressor only pump up to around 25-30psi and no higher, but it just keeps on running, I was thinking some seals in there or what not??

sorry to kinda jack your thread Capt.  :)

if it will run to pressure up then shuts off..but will not start back up unless pressure is released ...that tells me that your check valve on ur air tube into the tank from comp head is bad...its letting air the wrong way (out of the tank instead of only in)and its dead heading ur pump with air pressur that motor cant work against to restart then blows breaker....

Sounds right to me too

its the check valve. the check vavle holds the air persure in the tank. its one way vavle, its beeding some air persure back into the compersure.

Captn. J

to check the check valve do i crack the line going to the check valve  or  crack the big one that goes to the tank?

I would pull vavle out look to see why its not closeing off the air persure. its just a one way vavle.

has it always done this or is it a new problem and did you start using a new plug in point.

i looked at the check valve  dont look rusty at all   but for heck of it  i ordered new pressure switch and new check valve  hope either one will fix my problem

How OLD is it??

I had a 20 gallon C0leman Upright......and did similar things.......kept tripping the breaker.

My problem ended up being the bad MOTOR...........motor was junk and pumped oil into the tank.

Well do your lights go out when it tries to kick back on and pops the breaker? Might just not be getting enough power to turn back on. Has it worked since you put it in the barn?

RIP_K52007

if its movable take it upto the house and plug it in. See if it works good there.

Captn. J

yeah it worked just fine i ll try something else     , thanks for the advice derek    and by the way  it s oilless
