class 3 and class 4

this may sound stupid but does anyone know what the difference between a dana 44 class 3  and class 4 carrier?!?

I've never heard of "class" but if your talking 3 or 4 series then it pertains to the maximum gear ratio that can be put on it 3 I believe accepts up to a 373 and a 4 series does from there on up!

I wasn't really sure what it ment when it said it was a class 4 center section lol but thanks for the info it'll definitely help knowing the difference between the series
