I recently bought a cj8 jeep. i was looking at it and i noticed that there is a swingarm on it.. at least thats what i would call it. the frame in the rear is stacked on another frame, it has bump stops, and limit straps. the leaf springs are attached to the lower frame. this jeep is set up for mud or sand drags, i think... any help would be appreciated so i know what i have.......

soo i have tried to upload pics twice now and it keeps telling me it is too big... soo i have things to do and i will post pics later...

if it works, run it! is it creative...very. but if it isnt broke, break it, and go from there. i would! the first picture looks like a hinge/shackle, and the brace on the rearend tells me that someone spent some time on this rig. people are too quick to dismiss sometimes?

That thing is all whacked out. The reason we cant figure out what to call it is cuz its goofy and probably about halfway dangerous. Best to strip the junk off of it and put the springs on top of the axle and do whatever to the front to make it match up and be normal oh my god yep Ive seen some pipe dreams and theres one right there.

forget the suspension this thing has 5.88 gears in dana 44 from a scout!!!!!!!

also it rips with a stock tbi 350.......

whoever built this thing put alot of time and money into this thing it is cool but kinda strange how it is set up. but for now im going to bog/rock/climb/sand drag this thing till i break it then start over with a proper suspension and 1 tons
