what does this mean?

Ok so i got an engine givin to me that was torn apart. I got looking at the pistons and on the bottom of all of them they are stamped 030. Does this mean they are 30 over pistons? I know this may sound stupid to some but i just wanted to ask

Yes, usually its on the top

i would measure them. no piston is stamped on the bottom. its on the top.

And I have seen the numbers stamped on bottom of piston on the pin boss so they do stamp not just on top, its just most common to be on top

x2 But that is strange to see on the bottom. Never seen the stamp on the bottom before.
