so kinda getting to the point where i need put on some rear springs..

now i know there is all sort of diff length.. i currently have 52s, well set up for 52s
doing a shackle flip in the back..don't really want to move the front mount if i dont have to. but i do need to move my center back like 2 in. would be great

so would one of the longer spring move my center back or how dose that work..

thanks guys

Yes, a a longer spring will move your center point back, provided your front hanger remains in the same spot, but you will have to move the rear hanger back to accommodate the longer springs.

56" springs are 4" longer, so you will get 2" longer spring on each side of the centering pin. Thus, moving your axle center back 2".

Those are the common sizes.  Be aware that actual measurements can vary.  Depending on manufacturer, age... and if you are measuring loaded or unloaded, mounted or unmounted, etc.

In need of a yank strap?  PM me... I have 'em!

Be careful with 63s.  They tend to be REAL soft and people tend to get a lot of axle wrap with them.

56's will NOT move the axle back 2".  The axle pin is in the same spot as the 52's.   56 inch springs are 4" longer behind the axle pin.
x2. im running 56s in my truck that came with 52's. helped even more when i did a shackle flip

Oh S**t. Makes sense since square body GM 56" still have the front hanger in the same spot due to clearance issues with their fuel tanks.

Oops

so ok...no matter what ill have to move front hanger anyway { wich i took off last night}

so what the advantage/disavatage of the 52 and 56 just little bit more articulation with the 56 vers the 52...

Blazin40s

All u need to move yer axle back is an offset 0 rate add a leaf.  They will move it back an inch, and also inch and a half.  I moved mine back an inch after my shackle flip
