Th400 assembly help

Ok, so I know how to put these things together. I just did a complete overhaul on the trans today, but the only thing keeping me from finishing is installing the direct drum. It keeps getting hung up on the intermediate clutches. The drum slips on to the sun gear shaft, but once I get there it's hard to spin the drum because it's lubed up and then I'm spinning the rest o the internals. I tried to line up the clutch teeth as best as I could, but I have to rotate the drum a bit to get it to drop into place on the shaft. Wich un-alignes my clutch teeth. Then like mentioned earlier, it becomes really hard to spin everything, and the weight of the drum is forcing all the clutches to spin when I rotate the drum. I don't want to push harder cuz I'm afraid to break clutch teeth.

Know any tricks to get this bad boy on there?

Any tricks or tips would be greatly appreciated.

No $. I need the tranny done ASAP, it's summer time and I still don't have a job. I need this truck movin NOW.

I can rebuild 700-r4s, th350s, th400s. I've done them befor, just can't get the drum to settle in the clutch teeth. Or else I'd be done!

I'm just trying to get the direct drum to settle on the intermediate clutches. Other than that, I'm good to go. TCI manual valve body kit will be here today!

Exactly, I have rebuilt this thing from top to bottom with new Kevlar bands and better clutches. Got the 34 element sprag. Replaced all the bushings and seals and rings. Took the burn marks off the drums. It was a junk yard tranny.

got her done day befor yesterday!! just got the new 205, now im bout to do the twin stick mod, then mount it, bolt em in, and put the motor in, and then shell be back on the road.
