cross over steering question

im in the middle of doing a  high steer/cross over steering on my 60 in my 82 chevy truck.   i just put the 2 wheel drive steering box in this morning and when i went to hook up the power steering lines i noticed this steering box takes a different style fitting.  does all the 2 wheel drive steering boxes take a different style fitting where the lines attach or did i just happen to get an odd one that does.

Newer boxes are metric threads and fittings whereas older ones are standard thread and fittings.
