got some great news!!!

Well just got a Call from GM this evening, I am so glad they actually called my second contact number "my wifes phone" since mine dun got turned off...  My old man said they usually never call the second number, if they can't get ahold of you or leave a message on the first. and sometimes they dont even leave a message. Well either way they left a message and pretty much told me I got the job     I got to call em back tomorrow and figure out how all that works lol

Bad news my leg is still broke and its only been 9 days after my surgery..... I go in on monday to get the staples out and talk to the doc then since hes out the office till then.  I got to ask him how long before he can put me in a walking cast or walking boot?  Well and if too long pretty much demand he put me in one. If he still don"t... I know how to do fiberglass work   but they do got them walking boots on the ebay for like $10, Yes I know the risks of putting weight on it before I should but this is too good to pass up. 2 days before my surgery I was pretty much walking short distances with a limp in my plaster cast, which would of been about a week after it broke.   But theres just no way in hell I'm guna pass on a job at GM.... I been trying so hard for a long time to get in there, kind of one them once in a life things ya know

where are you getting in at? careful lots of people were getting hired in and laid off there for a while. They hired in a bunch of the big shots kids & other relatives at the engine plant n laid everyone else off.

Flint engine south

I wana say it was flint engine north. where they build the 1.4L for the sonic and the cruize or whatever.

nope that is south, that where they build them engines,   North got shutdown a few years ago, my dad worked there and they let him go when they shut that plant down then called him to work at south a liitle over a year ago.

I haven't heard they are laying anyone off there tho, my dads the 3rd shift super, so he would know   He did say alot of guys are retiring right now though,     They did have a layoff a couple months ago, but that was because they switched all the production lines around and added new lines so they could build the sonic engine,    They were just doing the volts engine, all the sonic engine is, is a volt engine with a turbo on it.    You know your gear head when you walk past racks and racks of turbos and it make laugh and makes you all warm and fuzzy

Update.......   I start tomorrow..... and I have actually been walking on my own now for about month.... so it all worked out great,  I am so glad to actually get in at GM  guna make me and my families life a hell of alot easier, yet I will have to get back into the swing of things of working for someone else    and not seeing the kids and what not as much as I do now, and they told me 2 days after my car accident with our truck.... just as I was thinking life can't get to much worse than this, and now it feels as the world been lifted off my shoulders

well its going great.... just makes my ankle swell up like a balloon today...  basically walked a good 30miles.... so yea Im feeling it... and I did get to choose to be on 3rd's   so awsome, no I get the third shift premium and its what Im used to...and works best for the wife and kids......

And yes to anyone who says that GM employees are over paid..... GFYS..... if anything they are way underpaid....     hope this temp position turns into permanant, but who knows theres temps that been there 3 years
