i have a question that hopefully you guys can answer, if you have a written avalibity at a job and it's been going fine for a long time then a new manager comes in can they just start scheduleing you beyond your avalibity and repremand you for not working it because you have a 2nd job that you have to go to??

yes they can do it, it is there way of pretty much saying we need people to work more hours, or hire another person, but payroll can't afford another person, and you and your "special" hours, so they do that for you to either choose one job or another or to get out of the way, so they can hire someone else who can do all the hours.  Thats just the reality of it, sorry its a little harsh, but you would most definitely understand if you were a business owner, we have to do it all the time with our landscaping company, we hire a lot of high school and college kids, so I always hate pretty much telling them when we get real busy to pretty much choose between school and a job. it sucks but its just how it goes.  I would suggest talking to the new manager and try to have them explain why they can't accommodate your schedule? and try to work something out, maybe ask them for a raise or something so you could quite your other job if the hours would be steady, blah blah blah, I don't know your situation, as everyone is struggling, so it might not be an option.

I just had a lil talk like this earlyer with my boss, askedem if i can rotate my schedule back a half hour so I come in 30 min early and get out 30 min early so I can pick up a 2nd job... he was fine with it but he said when we switch to 10.5 hour days I'll have to quit the 2nd job. So from that point of view, yeah, they can do that, I guess its upto workers discretion which job gets kept.

At will state, they can do whatever they want, bottom line. If you want their money, ya gotta do what they say.
