i wreaked my grandpas truck

well i t boned a car on m21 in front of tsc in owosso yesterday . every one walked away from with minor

bruises and what not .

well my aunt it the person that has the insurance on the truck ( yes my grandparent are on the plan ) .my grandma was with me during the crash . i was driving her to the doc cuz she cant drive a 5 speed and my grandpa is now blind in one eye so he cant drive . after every thing was all said and done i was in formed( by aunt kid ) the truck insurance was taken off insurance a few day before .. my grandparent where never told . i had to fax my paper work in today and the cop told me we will have to wait till Monday to finish the report

the thing i was wondering is what do you think ill get for fine ?

and how much is a no insurance fine ?

first off do you have a paper that says you were covered, like your proof of insurance?? second I hope to God you didn't tell the cop you didn't have insurance lol... if you did your screwed. 3rd were you at fault? If so your screwed, if not theres hope for you yet

heres what you do, since the police do not run the insurance untill they are actually writing out a report if they even run it, they usually only run the guy whos at fault insurance. All you are required to provided is proof of insurance, they don't have a way to run insurance from their car, they have to call it into the insurance company and as we all know takes a long time!! The cops won't do this at the scene or even a simple traffic stop. So as long as your not at fault you are good, because even if they in the off chance do run the insurance after the fact, they legally can not give you a ticket for no insurance. And the other drivers insurance will cover the damages,provided what insurance they have, if they even have it also! If they don't you can take them to court and get at least $500 from them.

Now if your at fault, and have no insurance, like I said your screwed.

The fine in Michigan now is 0 points, but you have to pay the ticket fee( varies from city to city) but roughly $200, and on top of that you have to pay and additional $400 to state of Michigan for 2 years, so a total of roughly $1000... this is due to the new driver responsibility law that was passed... I unfortunately got hit 2x in the same night for this, and was able to get one waived.

There might be a way around it as the law states we must posses insurance, but the ticket/ fine is for no proof of insurance? Either way no matter what ticket you get it is best to try and fight it in court, I have gotten alot of tickets over the years from speeding to reckless driving

and have gotten out of paying the fines on the majority of them or have had them reduced.

No proof of ins is a 200 dollar fine and a 200 dollars drivers responability fee for 2 years so it will cost you 600, if not more if you were at fault..

well i couldnt fine any of the up to date papers in the truck at the time . the cop told me that i had till Sunday night to fax them to the state cop shop .
he would tell me who was at fault till and i quot he had more information . this cop was a complete a## hole to me the hole time. he yelled at me when i was on the phone trying to get someone to come get my grandma. then he yelled at my grandma when he was talking to my grandpa . He has been super nice scene then when ive talk to him .
so i have little to no info on what going on the report

all i could find was the truck reg so i faxed that to him last night

I was heading west on 21 she was east bound in the the turn lane. The light turned yellow I didn't have Time to stop . When it turned I was at the white line . She pulled out to make a left true in to tsc . I locked to truck up . Hit her and we 180 in to the drive to tsc. Where you seen us stoped

sounds like your at fault to me....

oh and you never want to lock your tires up.. take it from a guy thats been in a lot of wrecks lol... when you lock em you just skid, no steering....

normaly when you cancel insurance on a vehicle, you still have it for 30 days from when you cancell it, well thats the way my insurance works with my vehicles and i have state farm, my agent told me that its on there for the 30 days, so maybe you will be good

depends when it was cancelled, when you pay your insurance its for the next month at my insurance company.

No proof of insurance like they said, $200 and $200 per year for 2 years. Same goes for Photo I.D. and Registration.

Worse case if there was no insurance they could take you to court over the damages.

nature has been tellin me to fix my brakes, only got front's again and its been raining the last 3 days everytime I drive somewhere.

I was told by the cop if I found all the papers there would be no tickets. If it was my falt wouldn't I get one for not having control of my vehicle. I'm 90 % sure if it was my falt is be getting a ticket for something

not in michigan. not sure but i think this is a no fault state. either way if you do find the papers it depends on your insurance company, if it actually did get canceled and the truck was not covered you will get tickets and responsibility feeds for not having insurance.

well i talked to the cop this morning i got a ticket for no prof . he said if i fought it ill probably could get it cut down on price of it .
the lady i hit was at fault b/c she was yellow and stopped so i had the right way . she got some ticket but the cop only told me about the one tho

No fault insurance means no matter who's fault it is, your insurance pays for your vehicle. That way I the other guy doesn't have insurance your not screwed. They can sue the other insurance company for reimbursement afterwards. Usually the only difference to the vehicle owner is the deductible.

Did the light turn red at the line or yellow? If it turned res at the line its likely your fault, if it turned yellow she failed to yield the right of way.

All you need for proof is your aunts binder from when the insurance was last renewed for proof.
