Well I got the trans out.... what a Bi**h!!!  what a stupid design GM came up with... ya know the whole closed bellhousing...and having to get the converter bolts off thru the starter hole... good God!!!

Any ways... I'm having a hell of a time getting the trans pump out... it only seems to be wanting to come out half way.... Does the Bell housing have to come off?

And why the Hell are the Torx bolts that hold it on torqued to like 180ft lbs??!?!?  I stripped 2 of em already and broke my damn bit loll.... this thing has been fighting me all the way... at least the valve body came off just fine... God knows where the check balls are.. all over the garage floor lmao  good thing the overhaul kit has new ones :)
and also is it a stupid idea to use a impact to try and take the torx bolts out the bellhousing to trans?  I'm already gina have to drill and tap 2 of em... really dont want to do it for em all.

Thanks :)

yes, bell housing has to come off... if i remember right its a T-50   supertorx actually, bit more rounded than a standard torx

need you a good impact driver to smack em and get em loose....

yep well one stripped, Drilled and tapped that one...    Yea I know they got loctite on em loll  ended up heating em up and they still had a hell of a time coming out with the impact..... yea a 600 ft lb impact... got the pump out, trans disassembled, and almost all back together....... And the kit I got is missing one of the steels WTF!!! loll   Called up Summit and there customer service was great, even though its the weekend they still answered and are going to be shipping me another overhaul kit for free!!!! Awesome!!! Saying this kit is $400      I'm guna miss the deadline of getting it done which was tomorrow but ohh well   the wife will just have to deal with it for a few more days loll
