Who all runs a trans temp gauge?  What is normal operating range? And what is the max? Most gauges I've seen only have numbers and no red zone,... Any one know of any aftermarket gauges that has have a red zone? I've looked on jegs, and the only one I.seen was banks, that was under 100 bucks

I run Autometer gauges. 2nd dd/tow rig I have used them on.

With Dexron VI, I  can run temps nearing 300s for short periods. Trans guy told me over 230 and I need to start backing down to let the trans cool back off though. If you hit 250, like most gauges are, you are starting to burn things up anyway.

It is normal, when towing the GN, that my trans runs near 200 degrees along with the engine. If it's under mid 80s temps, it'll run no hotter than 125. On 90+ days, it will normally get to about 175 just driving around.

This is on my current tow rig:

And on my old tow rig:

Also, I mounted my sender in the pan, it's the 2nd best place to put it, so you can tell how hot the fluid is as it enters the transmission.

Thanks, I wanna put one in my bogger since I.just dumped money into.the trans getting built, and just in case I let someone else drive it I would like one with a red zone so.they know to stop,
