So heres what went down night 1/(2) of the convention, RNC rules stated a candidate had to have the plurality of votes from 5 states to be up for nomination. The Ron Paul campaign showed up in force with petitions from 6 states showing he had the plurality. After a quick meeting the RNC came back and brought to vote a rule change from the 5 state requirement to 8 states. It was a yay, nay verbal vote in which it needs to be clearly 2/3's one way or the other. It came up about 50/50 from all the audio I have heard personally but none the less they adopted the new rule. Surprise.

Then Romney's campaign goes on to push a rule stating in 2016 the Republican Party can choose which delegates get seated and which do not, which is basically taking the popular vote right out of the equation. Basically flipped the electoral system within the party upside down.

Ontop of all that, the Romney campaign unseated all of the delegates from Maine because it was well known Ron Paul supporters had infact taken over the seats. When the RNC requested that Maine reseat their delegates with Romney supporters the Governor of Maine basically said hell no and didn't send anyone to the convention.

It was one big mess and in the end the Republican party committed suicide. Long story short enjoy the next 4 years of Obama.

Doug Wead afterwords

essentially the Republican party just scarred their next generation DEEP. If it wasn't for my current obligations/commitments I would be gone already. ==2cents

you can call it sore loosing... but its not, if thats how you see it you need to step back and look at the big picture. Really I don't feel like we lost at all, if anything this helped our movement. Its the actions of the Republican party that has me and MANY others pissed off, not just that they didn't nominate Ron Paul, we all knew that was a far stretch from the beginning.
