electric fan question

sorry if this seems like a dumb question  but what is better to have for an electric fan.  one where the shroud covers all or just about all of the radiator but doesnt flow alot of cfm (see alot that say 2200 cfm or so online)  or one that covers  about half or a little more and flows alot more cfm (upwards of 4000+ cfm)    my electric fan took a on me and i made a post on here lookin for one like what it had on my truck.  which was one that covered about half maybe a little more then half of my radiator.  and my radiator isnt a small one.  its an all aluminum one that i bought new from a guy that claims it was for a 6.2 diesel  so its a big radiator. 

after i made my post lookin for one i got to wondering if im better off going with a fan that may flow less cfm but covers just about all the radiator or stay with the style i had.

Basicly if you are gonna cover the whole rad and pull half the cfm it should be around Tue same temp or just below, also are you pushing or pulling with it?
Pushing u will want a little more to cover all the shroud area, pulling it will suck more even ly from  shroud but also will heat up the fan motor its self, and heat is electric anything's enemy!

i have to stick with a puller.  radiator is still under the hood and i dont have the room to put a pusher in there.

If running dual then u should be fine, appears you have mostly covered

If your truck performed fine with the setup you had before I would stick with it, no sense of trying something different and wasting your money if it doesn't work well

I went to the junk yard and got a Ford Taurus fan, which ever model had the largest engine, from what everyone says online they have a very good cfm rateing, and I.got mine for like 20 bucks, its pretty big and covers most of my radiator in my truck

well i thought my old set up worked good cuz the truck always got ran in the mud and it wasnt for long periods of time and it seemed to stay cool.  the dunes on the other hand was the first time this truck has been ran like that.  but im thinkin my biggest issue with keep my truck cool wasnt my fan but a some what plugged radiator.  i now have a big all aluminum radiator in it.  its bigger then most of what i see people puttin in trucks.  but i think i may stick with the same style fan i was runnin since my brother in law had a similiar one to what i was running.  so i figured id toss that on to get me by until i can get to a junk yard and find another 1 or 2 for myself

Everything runs hot in the dunes regardless lol  prolly cuz your always in the throttle

yea  but  just the drive from the parking lot to the bottom of test hill i was running 240.   but i picked up a bigger electric fan yesterday and got it mounted in the truck today  so we will see how that and the new radiator work  at the end of the month when i head back
