boxed in engine

i want to box in my engine on my 79 ford over winter and was looking to see how any of you have done it. what you used and so on. pics would be helpfull.

yeah, i just picked up a set of uprights so i was thinking metal also. maybe like the tin off an oven or something.

ill try n post some pics. i went cheap on mine for now, over the winter im going to enclose the motor with 22 gauge sheet metal. for now i used rubber roofing and backed it with some header tape i had then i took a few strips of sheet metal and bent em to push the rubber out bout 4 or 5 inches away from the uprites. seems to be doing fine with the heat after i ran it around for awhile.

I made mine out of angel iron & sheeted it with aluminum sheeting, 4 peaces, removable top & sides, The bottom is welded on.

It stays cool, I have two radiators & two water pumps on it. It will get hot if you run it hard and for a long time, the radiators are also somewhat covered up in the back just to keep the mud out of the fans. but all in all stays cool.

I can't relocate mine, but idk how hot it will be. There won't be any airflow.  I wouldn't box in the rad, but the box would be pretty close to it. I don't think air would flow right. Even I I put pullers on it, driving on the road I think it will get hot

jthomas, if i were you id start by sealing the bottom the best you can. and then maybe just seal to your inner fenders. if it dont get hot then maybe start building sides. just my opinion.

Yea i agree , I'll have to do that
