UPDATE,
Was at the ORVAW meeting in Lansing Wed night [ 3-6-13 ]and there was the Supervisor/Planning fellah from the Oakland County Parks giving a presentation on this very topic. Its proposed to be a 1200 Acre [ old mining spot ] off M-24 and Oxford rd. NOTHING is etched in stone & the planning will take years to acchomplish, however, they are looking for different opinions ect. You can contact Jon Noyes at 248-858-4624 or noyesj@oakgov.com and let him know you are interseted in the planning process for this project.

OH, anybody interested in hearing about the new proposed $ 36.50 ORV sticker for 2014?

And what's up with the price hike?

Governor Synder is behind it.  Its been reported that the new proposed ORV sticker fee increase for 2014 will be 2 tier, meaning two different prices. It will be $ 26.50 for those who want to ride under PA 240 only & $ 36.50 for those who want to ride under PA 240 and the designated ORV trail system.

There is no Bill at the time, but I can tell you for sure that the stakeholders who'll profit the most from this fee increase [ DNR, Non profit ORV clubs ] are pressuring the legislature REAL HARD for this increase, while you folks at the bottom sit silent and know little/nothing at all about it. Im staying on top of it and will advise and update,if you'd like?

we used to ride our quads at that old gravel pit in oxford. a lot of people would ride there all the time. they must be thinking if you cant beat them might as well join them. and make some money off it too.

Yah,
its privately owned, but if the 1200 acre ORV area is going to happen there, it will happen in conjunction with the Oakland County Parks and Recreation too.

That's the way to do it!

Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but it's ironic to me....

I know those pits in Oxford very good, grow up riding them
That would be sweet to have a off road park there

I would love to have like a ol gravel pit turned into a offroad park or like a golf corse. Something that is open area with mud and hills and such. Like hills for fullsize vehicles, not like rock crawlers
Yeh like a muddy hill climb
