dana 44 pinion bearing

 i have a gm dana 44 that needs the pinion bearing changed. do i have to pull the whole carrier out or can i just do it from the back of the pumkin?

Youll have to pull the carrier to change both of the bearings.

put tube seals in at the same time.

im pretty sure theyre both bad. i can move the pinion all around and front to back

gears are probably shot too then...

Agreed. when my pinion bearing went out my whole axle was destroyed.
