well if you want  one that can go in mud and water you will have to seal all electronics or buy water proof electronics (not cheap) to build a truck is not easy but not bad if you got the tools and parts to do it... I have built a few rc trucks for mud out of the parts I have but it aways seemed to just cost me money when they got dirty. i went through alot of motors and such.  I sold my last complete truck over a year ago but still have a few frames and axles laying around. if it was me I would find a water proof truck and hope it holds up

MUD + RC = LOTS AND LOTS OF CASH.  The picks of the ones you like are kits and your going to drop 400+ into them.
Your wanting a Cheap off road, rock crawler mud bogging R/C your better fork out the cash.
Axal Make the best RTR ones out there and your looking $350 bucks for one and they are not ready for Mud at that point.

BUT for you I would look for a 4wd Stamped with a Brushed set up so you can find a 35, 45 or 55 turn motor so you can us the low end toruqe from them.  if you want to run the stock 15 or 12 turn your going to get the speed.  The other Cheap one to look for is a HPI 4WD Wheely King and then buy the Crawler King conversion kit and a high turn motor for it. I did this and it saved 150 bucks over the rtr Crawler King.

I have 450 into a crawler and its not even close to being done. I still need a Radio and A good small LiPo battery.
Hokey Fab- Idea and Fab guy.
