Well I just picked up this 84 c10 and the paint needs some lovin! Has some rust but not bad. Looks like someone tried to half ass bondo it already. Just lookin to do a flat black paint job but I don't want to have it rust away within a couple months. Any tips and tricks of the whole process woul be great! First time paintin a truck so it's all new and any info would be great. Again I'm tryin to do this as cheap as possible just want to make it look good! Thanks!   ==wgm

I paint my race cars with tsc tractor paint, it fades, but its easy to touch up with rattle cans. If you mask it nicely it will look good.

yes you need to sand it to get rough stuff off and wax stuff and it gives the paint hook on to. or after time the paint will come off.  we put hardern in the when we use it.

we did a cab and front clip on a dodge with a half gallon . you should be able to do it with about a  gallon . maybe a little more .
we just used the sand paper what we had on hand like 120 but i dont know for sure  what it was.
the gallons like $40 and you can use with or with out hardener . it drys a ton faster with it . hardener around $20 .

My only problem is I don't have a spray gun.

how much that plasti dip running? the most im going to do is just pull the mirrors off, tap off the glas and lights and whatnot, and sand it all down maybe do some crappy bondo job sense its not my strong suit. and paint it

RATTLE CAN it............and if you dont want it to fade...........then clear coat it to.

Im my opinion there really isnt a cheap way to paint and vehicle and still make it look good. .......and expect it to last.

Gonna cost a 100.00 or more depending on how ya do it.......sand it, primer it, paint it, clear coat it.

Could always brush paint it with gloss black TSC paint, will look good at ten feet away and will last a while.

prolly run around 100 with cost of the spray gun. i would think a gallon would do a car.
