69 cutlass S project (pic heavy)

spent the last 3 days fine tuning the gaps. replaced the driver door pins and bushings, they were completely blown out. I have the door and fender gaps as good as they can get with out doing some metal reworking. going to try to get the whole car primed up this week and all blocked out. hopefully get it painted end of next week.

Found a couple dents in the roof that would show through the vinyl, got them knocked out, spent a few hours masking and prepping the car. finally have the whole car in primer. lots of blocking to do. 98% of the spots should block out. I may have to spot putty a few places and reprime later. looks like we are going with the 350/ alum intake mild cam and some headwork, with a th350 few pics how she looks in primer.

I put self etch on bare metal spots before I put 2 k primer on. I use epoxy as a base primer when I strip panels to bare metal.

No real updates I have been out of town quite a bit in april, and have a big job coming up next week. so it is looking like mid summer completion.

Looking good though. My buddy should be getting his 69 442 back within the next couple weeks. Then we get to drop in the built 455/th400.

Ok, Im back on track with the car. I blocked the whole car, then reprimed it and blocked it again. took it out side for some fresh air. Also so I could use the sun to find any spots I missed. Scrubbed the entire garage. I finished masking the car last night. It is getting painted today, I will post progress pics as I go.

Washed the car down to get all the dust off of it.

I put 4 coats of base and a drop coat to even the metallics. here are some pics of the clear just after it was sprayed. It is going to flow out like crazy. it is slightly peeled in the pics, but i might end up cutting the clear off the floor. lol

Here are some pics of it outside and unmasked. It looks very nice, I am very happy with how straight it came out. Cant wait to see what it looks like after I flat sand it and polish it. here ya go.
