Looks fun tryed it with a regular bow once don't work out that well lol. I bought a spear gun at a yard sale last summer ain't got a chance to try it yet. Wonder how a cross bow would work

Done it for years, amber glasses help a lot to see into the water. Due to light refraction (light bends when it hits water) you have to aim low, the deeper the fish, the lower you aim.
Most any bow will work if set up properly, reel, line and fiberglass arrow with a retractable barb, I've used a flat bottom Jon boat and a trolling motor, but have also fished from a canoe.
Word of caution... The higher you are above the water the better you can see and further you can shoot, that means "stand up"  ;D and.. Uh..  Good luck.

Check out other posts in the den, several threads about this, see suckers, sucker punching, bow fishin etc...

Over the Edge Sharpening systems, cutlery, shear, scissor sharpening

It's all fun and games till someone gets knocked up.. down or out !
Gone postal.. back in a minute!

Go at night.  Mount a bunch of flood lights to your boat and use a generator to run them.  Thats what we do.

Nighttime is more fun for sure. I would highly recommend spending the extra money and getting a retriever by ams. Well worth the money and makes the sport much more enjoyable.
When in doubt, throttle out!
