you may or may not know this but im going to school for video editing, but before i can get to take that class i have to take some bs classes first.  and one of thoes bs classes is Introduction to Sociology (but i do have to say it is somewhat interesting), and i have to write a paper about Gender Socialization.

so here is a brief example of what im looking for

QuoteThe purpose of this paper is to give you a chance to analyze how children learn about gender.  This exercise will help you put what you have learned about socialization and/or gender socialization into practice.  It will give you a sense of how social structures and institutions are organized, created and maintained in society.  It will help you understand how children learn to "do gender" (in other words, how children learn to behave and present themselves in ways that make them easily viewed as a boy or a girl).  By analyzing the gender make-up of children's toys or clothes, you will have a chance to see how gender and socialization work in the real world.  Remember, that gender socialization, as any other form of socialization, has less to do with biology (nature) than with learning (nurture).

but overall my theory that im coming up with is that parenting has a bigger impact on the gender roles kids take; like boys will be boys and girls will be girls or in other words the parent dictates what a boy is versus what a girl is.  so if you could help me with your thoughts on this subject that would be great.  thanks

my buddy said that the chicks he dated that were raising boys without a dad around were raising boys you would think were 'gay'. Scared of bugs, didn't like dirt, etc.

same as kids act different based on money...poor kids use sticks, stones and anything handy to have fun...rich kids wouldn't be caught dead with em.

I'm not sure how much of an impact the color of your clothes are or what type of toys you play with have. I have a cousin who was raised with two brothers by both parents and while two of the brothers are grease monkeys, the third cant even change a tire. Growing up,nobody in our family had much money so he played with the same toys as the rest of us,even wore the same hand me down clothes that cycled thru the family. I believe the many different traits are already there, you just choose which path you want to follow.

The social standing of the family will impact how a child is raised.  It is true that by the age of 2 most all of the childs habits are ingraned.  Most all  boys will want to grow up like their dad's and most all girls will want to be like their mom's.  A lot of the difference is do to the experiences the children go throught. Two children in the same surconstance will not always do the same thing do to what they have learned. 1 may climb a tree but the other has fallen to may times and will not.  A lot of what makes us different is the experences that we go throught.  Yes, a lot of who you are is do to your parents, teachers and other people that influnece you.  A lot of comes down to what you have learned from your own experinces.

This reminds me of the movie Kidnigarten cop loll........ where the little kid stands up and says ''boys have penises, girls have vaginas''......lmao

*Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone **** your wife and being proud to raise their kids.*

*Follow my Ruts, If you got the Nuts!!*

*People say I'm Crazy,....but ya know what... I say I'm crazy too!!*
