pinion brake ?question?

I'm running a single pinion brake on the rear axle, I'm using the stock master cylinder and booster, with the front line plugged at the master cylinder, my brakes work awesome, but almost too awesome they lock up as soon as you touch the pedal, there is no way of easing into them, how is everyone else running theirs? Did you use the rear brake port or front port and if so where did you block the other one off at? Keep in mind fluid is still going threw my proportioning valve, not sure maybe I should eliminate it .. any help would be appreciated

I kept my stock brakes, well kinda I don't have the vacuum on it anymore so there manual... But anyways all I did was get stainless steel brake to go from the stock location to my pinion break, works good for me I can lock my tires right up as long as I let my foot off the throttle .... I'm running a brake on the front and rear just for safety I know it may not ever happen up I figured what if one failed or something happed but that's just me

I used stock 86' Master. No booster.  I ran 1 new line from the rear port of master all the way back, no proportioning valve.   I plugged the other port right at the master.  Just took the original fitting from the  brake line and welded it shut.  Awesome brakes.  I want to add a front brake setup too  this winter just for safety.

I pretty much did the same set up u have only difference is i have proporting  valve no problem maybe its the caliper

I just run a front pinion brake my brake is a bit touchy I think too but you get used to it once ya get mud in it lol but its getting better every time I use it it seems but I'm using the stock setup and everything also

Yeah I want to run a front brake eventually, but when I centered my axle and welded the spring perches on I didn't account for the brake so I'm just shy of it fitting, but all my other brake components are new, steel braided lines, caliper, pads... Like I said they work good and lock the tires right up,  was just wondering if everyone else's are sensitive like mine, or if there's good way to make them less sensitive so they don't lock up soon as you barely touch the pedal

Yeah mine are pretty touchy but figure I was used to stopping from the wheels and not through the whole drive line system but you'll get the feel for it I did

Yeah I figured the same, it wasn't bad on the ground but unloading off the trailer for the first time just felt weird lol
