Your Deffinately on the right track, I made my own pinion brake mount, I'm using at 3/4 ton chevy truck caliper and a Mazda B1500? (Little truck) disk, I used it cause it was sitting on the shelf of spare parts I think that's what it was off though ( cause it had a middle that was flush with the rest of the disk) so I put in the 2.5 ton yoke bolt pattern in the disk, mounted to the yoke. I made up a mount for the caliper off of that, when I got it right I put in the bolt pattern from the 6 bolts behind the dust flange shield and that's how I made mine, if I was home I'd get ya the measurements but the navy says I gotta be in Cali loll

But you can buy just the bracket if that's all you need cause I thought of buying one, then I made one instead.
if you can still see the color, you ain't muddin'

mud for fun

Leave the steering in the back. Its the best geometry and if your going to run leaf springs you should have lots of room for the steering cyl. Your not going to break the tires off unless you are planning on getting big air.

not jumping ... u have any pic of how they mount back of the axle?  also my driveshaft s on the pass side  running leaf springs too

My current truck has a psc double end cylinder but my old truck used a tractor supply 8" single end ram. I don't have any pics but mount one end by the pig on the axel the other end by the tie rod end. Should be able to get pics on trucks gone wild forum.

HellYeah4x4

its not the best pic but if you go on my build page ( Hell of a Time) i got a pic from behind the axle. I use a single ram from boyce. The brackets for my pinion brakes came from boyce equipment as well. Only problem i have with it mounted behind the axle is its in the way of my link bars. but if your running leaves its not a problem for you. You ever get up this way n wanna take a look at some stuff feel free to hit me up  ++peace
