well story goes I HAD an 89 ram 50 ran great drove great but with 3 kids it wasn't ideal so I had it for sale or trade. found a kid with a 94 buick roadmaster that wanted to trade after a few days of talking I drove up to lapeer we meet at walmart talked it over everything looked good so we swapped tittles drove home everything worked great got up this morning and the car wouldn't start no big deal right? wrong got it started and all the sudden I have major issues with it stalling and not starting back up so I started looking around and there is metal shavings in the oil and when I finally got it started you can hear a bearing so I call and text the guy thinking he if the shoes were the other way around I would be trading back no ? asked I haven't even had the car 24 hours. but he wont answer text or call now I am stuck with a bad car that I cant even drive my kids around in. is there anything I can do?

this option
as capt J said ,u took the deal, the kid screw'd u over, take the screwing
or theres this option
get some bail money together & find the kid and demand your truck back or someones goin to the hospital and someones goin to jail... might work, as I said bring bail money on this option ++peace

No lemon laws in Michigan... that sucks. All you can do is look for another engine. 3800's aren't too hard to come by.

anyone got an lt1 forsale?

last I knew R&R Salvage in Laingsburg had one in a roadmaster. Are you sure it's a LT1 they also used normal SBC's in them the one I used to have didn't have the LT1

Have you checked with the SEC of State about buying or trading terms. I thought there was a 5 day period where you could return a car if there was a hidden or unknown problem. I might be wrong, but it might worth a try with the SOS.
I can also see if my dad still has a lt1 out of a roadmaster that he was going to transplant into a 73 nova.

I had a guy do something along those lines with a blazer I bought off Craigslist when I was 16. Went and looked at it the first time and started fine, came back the next day with the cash he already had it running, didn't think nothing of it. Got to my buddies house and wouldn't start. He put a junk battery in it. So I had his address on the title (the truck was at someone else's house) took the battery out found his house and threw it through his mailbox into his front lawn. Needless to say he left me a voicemail and got the hint. Lesson learned for me.

Michigan has a 14 day return policy on the books for private owner sales. I bought a Jeep off a guy to have then Trans give out on the way home. He gave me my money back and towed it back to his house because he was afraid I was going to file a lawsuit. Law states repair, replace, or refund. But it small claims and it difficult to collect even if you win. Thepart I find fed up is what is wrong with people why can't you just send your junk cars to the junk yard quit passing them off to people who are looking for a decent car for their families.
Sorry this happened to you.

1st off that sucks, sorry it happened to you, second I doubt you can do anything about it, "as is", means "as is"... Even if you take him to court there is no way to prove that the engine was bad before you drove it home, or after... It's your word against his. In the eyes of the court or the other kid you could have ragged the piss out of it on the way home and caused the damage yourself, not saying you did, but either way you cannot prove it
Fat chicks welcome IT'S A 2 1/2 TON!!
