i just got a plow yesterday and yeah  ==censor snow dumped but i know the truck and plow need work  anyhow  it wont turn or go up now   it did went up for me once  then now it all do is go down    where do i check first?   i filled the fluid  so it s full and my question is the cable going to the pump should be a live wire?   i believe it looks like a western pump or a off brand similar to it   cable controlled too...

the cables could just be out of adjustment. Is there good power and ground at the pump?

so the battery line to the pump should be "live at all time"?

also i took the motor out    drained the fluid and gonna refill with fresh one .... how do i bench test a pump?  can i test with a jumper cable?

should only have + (positive) when the solenoid is activated ground should be all the time. to bench test just ground pump housing then put + to the spot where the + wire atatches then the pump should run.

Sounds like cables are out of adjustment. It takes some finnegling to get em tuned in right. Theyre picky. Or tgd controller isnt grounding for the solenoid or the solenoid is shot itself. I burnt one up after just 1 season

its cold out make sure there is NO water in your fluid it will freeze and not work also if your trying in a heated barn you know its not frozen then .  be carefull with the cable screws they break easy   at the pump cover   and also be sure the cable is in good shape so its not sliding inside the sleeve /outer coating  ..   and you should be able to cross jump the solenoids  if there external  /which i dont beleive western  is .

sounds good   in the past i've had the line connection at the turn ram  go bad..   they have a check valve to them they power 1 way and then wont open when the other side try's to turn it back   . but if ya got ice in some of it its in all of it. lol   when you change /torn it down did ya clean or rinse off a small screen also in the resovore  maybe.
