So i just picked one up simply because they are cool, cheap, durable bolt action rifles that you can find ammo for fairly cheap. Im thinking about putting it in an archangel stock and get an ati bent bolt handle for it along with a see through scope mount that bolts to the reciever so i can still use my iron sights. I picked it up for 100$ so its deffinatly not a gun i want to spend a ton on but its deffinatly gunna look cool when its done. Its a 1942 all numbers matching m91/30. I pulled the original stock off and safely stored it in my gun safe and dropped it in an m44 stock for now and i really like the looks of it. Any of you guys own a mosin? What have you done to it as far as modifications. Im new to the mosin world but so far i really like this rifle.

had 5 of them all gone now. polished the bolts and triggers rubber but pads are your friend lol. i put a ats bolt kit in 1 and dint personally like it. got a good deal on a couple of bolts at a gun show to play with cut bend weld blend. and if you linkthin  the bolt handle a little make a would of difference at least i think so

I have a couple 91/30's that were captured by Finland during WWII, and a 1942 dated 91/30 replica Sniper with PU scope.

Also have a M44 1952 Polish made carbine.

I leave mine in military configuration as they are worth more that way.

out of the 5 i had only 2 i would consider nice both were 91/ 30s 1 was a hex pre ww2 receiver  and the other was a 42 standard the other 3 were mismatched number mid war crude as all hell guns but very strong robust guns make a hell of a club

Heck yeah they do. They are nice an heavy. If ya run out of ammo you can swing that bad lad like a baseball bat. This mosin is in great condition all matching numbers the stock is beautiful. Im not wanting to ruin any original parts for it so i save the original stock and im going to buy atleast a new bolt body if not whole assembly. Because i want to trick it out a little but i want to return it to original condition some day.
