Well it is getting close to time to make a decision on the next power plant for the Runner It has a 3.0L with a turbo stuffed on top this thing makes great power and a ton of fun to wined up. But, something is very, very, wrong as from 1500 to 2500 RPMs it sounds like a bad Sewing Machine. And if you leave your right foot on the floor for 3 to 5 minutes it will start dogging out and then dies right out. I don't know if this is do to the motor or the turbo setup ??? Either way the motor needs to go !!! the question is do I

1 dump $2000 into one of these

http://raptorengines.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=35&products_id=102

and put the turbo back on or

2 do a 3.4L swap

2A will a stock 3.4L give me the power the 3.0L with a turbo does???

2B as far as I can tell a swap will run me around $1000 for the motor and around $1500 for other stuff form ORS, is this what you guys are experiencing also???

roll-bar Bob

Anyone ???

no thoughts!!!

lilred

Don't know about toyotas but plug and play is historically the way to go if you want it done soon. Custom swaps always turn into a year or two or 5 project around here lol. ???
