does anyone know anything about them like do you need permits to build one not fixed permanently to the property or if it matters how big you can go on your property? i don't know I've been trying to find stuff on the internet but i can't find anything on this subject. I've already started building it but stopped because id hate to have to waste my time and tear it down. thanks

sq footage cant be bigger than your  house when I built mine and maybe 16 - 18 ft at tip of roof    n such    and u said not fixed   how u do that? that can be dangerous.   but mine didn't follow the city rules but I got lucky I had a friend who knew the inspector   he just came and gave me the OK

Call or goto the township.  They have all the codes and regulations
and usually you can get a variance without trouble

If your property is zoned farm you don't need a permit and your barn can be bigger
