My 82 crew cab has developed a shake recently coming outta neutral into first.  So upon my inspection it seemed that the drive shaft joint that mounts to the bottom of the frame is bad. I assumed that the drive shafts would split there but they dont. How do you get this mother flipper off?! ==pissed

unscrew the cap on the slip joint and the shaft will slide out

Then you will have to have the carrier bearing pressed off and the new one pressed back on
drive like you stole it

old school truck dude

Hammer and chisel it off, just be alot more gentle going on with new one and use a flat punch instead of sharp chisel- works, done a bunch of them  ;D
