Hey everyone, my name is Jake. Live in Bay City. I just sold my 95 Lexus LS400 and went out and bought a beater YJ. I have always wanted a YJ, my dad bought a TJ when I was in middle school and I was hooked on Jeeps since that day. My Brother also had a few TJs and my best friend had a YJ. I used to off road my old 95 explorer and that thing held its own for a falling apart stock rig.

I was hoping I could find some local places to do a lil wheelin.

Welcome !!
The mounds in mt morris is a good place ( currently closed till may 15th). Or rocks and valleys in Harrison . ( which I am going there this saturday along with a co worker). I have some bits and pieces left from my 87 yj if there is something you are looking for.

Well I do need some help, the 4wd is not connected, it needs a cable installed the PO gave me. I have no idea what he is talking about and I dont even have the cable to look at. Its in the back of my GFs truck right now. Hah. Also has tons of wiring messed with, heat blower is on a switch, has a button to start it, one fog light, no dash lights, and complete stereo install.

I dont really care about the switch and push button, but there is a rats nest in this thing and I am clueless.

Has a hard top, but he gave me the soft top frame, what all do I need to use that? I want to make sure I have everything, if someone is local to me and wants to stop by and BS thats fine by me. I work on cars all the time, and have a project car, this jeep is my DD/light offroad fun.

Heres a couple pics. Someone rattlecanned it from the looks, but never bothered to sand the body down, so its chiiping off easily to reveal a shiny green paint.

Sorry man but when it comes to wiring I am no help. I do have a column with keys in my 87 tub that you can have if you want to remove it. I do not have any soft stuff , but it generally consist of quit a few pieces for initial installation. What year and eng you have ?  I live in clio if you are interested in column.

I might take you up on that, I head thru that way every other week or so.  I have a 92 with the 2.5 and ax5.

what is it

It is a 92 eagle talon AWD

I am sure I can figure out the wiring with some time, but what I really need help with, is something I am not familiar with. Getting this 4WD cable connected so its not just a rwd jeep, I want to have some fun. Also had some coolant dripping, was coming off DS bottom corner, although there is no hole there, I think it was spraying out from somewhere but the radiator looks fine. Is there another small line somewhere that might do this?

derbydude

D's bottom corner ? Rad or eng ?

Driverside of the radiator on the corner. Coolant temp was cool when it was leaking. There was no leak earlier, I was under it with engine running/hot and there was nothing, then while bleeding air from the clutch i heard it leaking on the ground. It doesnt seem to be from the radiator, that looks fine, and holds fine under pressure. I think its spraying there, but im not sure.

derbydude

You could have a cross tube with a pin hole spraying out causing it to look like it is leak from somewhere else !!

derbydude

As far as the 4x4 cable goes it sounds like he gave you a replacement manual operated one , not hard to install , goggle it lots of helpful tips there.

What would leak after it was cool but not while running. Whatever it is just started. I was all over the thing trying to find a leak earlier that day.

jadajake

Once I get these few things fixed I want to go have some fun.

jadajake

Well found the leak, the hose clamp was rusted to the hose, but not actually clamping the lower rad hose, lost about 2 gallons of coolant but fixed and filled it with fresh. Coolant flush done, haha.

Does anyone have a master cylinder cap? Mine is leaking. Had to open it 3 times and fill it one to work.

Not the brake master, I need the clutch master reservoir cap, I discovered the PO cross threaded it so it would hold, no longer holds pressure. I called a parts store they wanted to sell me the entire master, thats already new, i do not want to spend 40 on it for the cap.
