Stepside and 5th wheel hitch

I have a 99 Chevy stepside, has anyone ever put a 5th wheel hitch in one? I picked up a good deal on a 5th wheel trailer. I can't find much info online, besides it won't work, but I seen a few ppl that did it, but no explanation on how. Any help would be appreciated, before I look for a bed or truck to trade.

The rails are too wide might be able to cut them down and make it work. The hitch might be ok for width not sure have to see what the measurements are of the wheel wells and the hitch itself.

The rails and hitch will fit in the bed, just have to modify the release handle, what I'm concerned with is the the tongue on the trailer clearing the bed sides on turns.
