After doing a lot of searching I always thought that for the wheeler with multiple vehicles, one of the best ways to go was a cradle and hitch receivers in the front and the rear, that way you could move your winch wherever you needed it. Going that route tends to lean towards electric winches, but hydraulic would work too as long as you use the quick disconnects...

Hydraulic ones don't work well if your engine is not running. I would think electric would be a better choice for me. I know they both have there advantages and disadvantages. Just my thought.

I have a 12000 Milemarker, I have yet to use it to get me unstuck.

Camo Mike has the same winch and has used it all the time. He says it works great.

I got a snatch block for it and paid 589 delivered to the house. I wish I would have got wireless remote control. 100 extra, but for the things I do it would have been worth it.

Econo-box from Hell

I have an ancient Warn single direction winch I bought cheap on e-bay.  The no load speed is awsome and it pulls like a mad dog, the problem is that it doesn't have a powered reverse.  I think I'm going to take it off and put it on my trailer.

Warn...cordless remote would be nice.  Look like a dork holding the remote.  What really sucks is when the remote is in the bag in the back, and you cant open the tailgate  ==ha  Now looking at a rope instead of a cable.  Some say it is suppose to be safer, but it is costly.  Saw only one friend with it.  It worked nice.

MileMarker E9000 on the Jeep...............yet to put it to real use yet.   Was going to use it at the Mounds to pull out another Jeep but he had no tow points on the front and wanted me to "tie" it around his bumper ends......................no thanks.

smart move. winch cables should not be wrapped around something and hooked back on themselves unless there is no other way. I think it decreases the strength of the cable, or puts stress on it.
