update:  this is going slowww.  1 step forward, 2 steps back. lol.  distributor was rubbing on the firewall, took that out and put in my new pro comp small cap distributor and coil. got old oldsmobile power seats out and put in some really nice 1980's blazer seats that i had to shorten 2" and make my own brackets. took the drivers side sill plate off and found a nice hole probably 5"x3" and im in the process of patching that.  starter solenoid took a p00 from touching the exhaust and grounding out so i got a new one coming. crossover and power steerign is all done. only wiring left to do is back to the tail lights. got a rear bumper on and just need to make a few welds.  ordering sound dedenor and a full mat for the floor to try and knock the sound down. i took it down the road the other day and we couldnt hear each other talk in first and second gear lol. trying to figure out electical. i hate electrical. blinkers are staying solid and the relays are good. but 4 ways flash fine. hoping its just because the rears arent hooked up yet.  getting antsy to finish it after seeing other big trucks running around town.

redchevy11

bad ground probably in my 65 I had a bad ground...run a ground from your body to your frame...my blinkers would light up when I hit the brake...then I just put a better ground on and it fixed it. let me know if you need any help with any thing

Great job!!!  Keep the stock bumper on the front of that truck!!!!   That front end is too sweet to cover up with that Brush guard!!

have been trying to drive this for awhile. having tranny problems. first time i broke the aftermarket heat treated sprag. turns out overtime racing put it in there cracked at the beginning. got charged for that. next was i was driving up the expressway and i lost line pressure and it wouldnt pull itself up any hills. overtime changed the case free of charge. oh yea this tranny has maybe 80 miles on it since first rebuilt and machine work done. now after its sat for a week now i dont have any oil pressure and the #7 or 8 rod is knocking. pulling motor and putting in crank and berings now. havent even broke in tranny. just one thing after another. thats what i get for not taking the bottom end apart when i first built it. should be about 2 weeks and ill be driving it again.

Bo Duke

sounds like slow going but its going to be worth it once u get to drive it and everyone tells you how sweet of a truck u have....

well, found out crank that was in there was ground .030 and the rods and main berings were for a crank ground .010.  got new crank kit, high volume oil pump, gasket kit, and alot of other stuff.  got a cam bering installer and cam berings and will be putting them in soon. want to get it going asap but kinda on the backburner since work is 50 yards away and dont really need to drive it until school starts again.
