What do you think will become of GM? I think after all the plant closings and the Government has their way GM will have one plant left that produces a few cars like the Chevy Aveo and Cobalt because they get the best MPG. I also think they will be scrapping cars that are not making huge profits, like the Corvette. Could this be the end of High Performance cars and the beginning of high MPG cars that go 0 to 60 in 15 seconds? They scrapped Hummer, next will be other large SUV's then Trucks ect ect!

i work for delphi for 3 years we been bankrupt for five. lol 90% cant afford vettes or hummers anyways... but im thinking about getting a new camero haha. yeah i think its best they go bankrupt make changes.

I totally agree on going bankrupt, they would be able to get rid on the UAW and Government interference. If Obama has his way we will all have 25cc weed whacker motors under our hoods in the not to near future.

Crazymays77

they wouldnt be in this mess if they didnt pay the big guys 200,000 a year and then 250,000 bonus. thats crap if you ask me. I have a lot of words to say to that but not on here.

im U.A.W... i own gm cars and ill die with a gm key in my hand! i hate how most of you blame the uaw! i dont get $1,000,000 a year. i make between $20-15 an hour with p00 insurance. so dont point fingers at my uaw!!!

Squirell

uaw isnt the problem. it is just the state of the economy and that nobody wants to buy a new car due to the chance they might not have a job next week. i dont blame uaw. i think some of them make to much money. dont think you need to make 35 bucks a hour to watch a machine work. kids at mcdonalds do more than that and get minimum wage
I had the full size thing it just bored me!!!

The only people you need in your life are the ones who prove they need you in theirs

Its all fun and games till someone gets knocked up, down or out

Another thing about the UAW is positions in the factory. By that I mean I had a job at a UAW plant for a few weeks and when I first started I asked someone to give me a hand with something I was working on and he said (THATS NOT MY JOB) WTF well come to find out a UAW worker can only do the job they are assigned to do! I think if you work at a factory anything that needs to be done in that factory to get production out the door IS YOUR JOB!!!

Thats why I have a problem with the UAW and no longer work for a UAW plant because I told them exactly what I thought about that p00!

The UAW does nothing but take money from the working man and protects LAZY workers who dont want to do anything but show up to work and collect a pay check!!!

If you have an at will factory and know that if you are a slacker you will be replaced that will give people a little more incentive to work harder and have better quality products. If you cant get quality products out the door on time someone else will.

Amen! applaudd applaudd

All the work is sent out of this country leaving nothing behind for all our people! Since so many people are out of jobs due to outsourcing, nobody's going to buy a freakin' thing. I can't believe that it has actually got this bad and keeps getting worse, maybe I'm a dumbass and just don't get it. ???

I seen it coming for a while now. I was telling people a few years ago to start buying American made products and boycott China. Just wait now when America does not make anything and all these foreign countries charge 10 times more for the same product that you need! Supply and demand, they have it and you need it!

at first i was anti uaw but they helped me out alot! i just look at all the managment getting fired for no reason.... with out my local i would be looking for a job... i never been laid off yet. when i come to work i ignore the drama and do my job! people at work come to get my help cause im good at what i do. i thank my dad for teaching me to turn a wrench haha plus p00 has changed since you where in the shop well atleast here 75% of us are under 30 that old union mentality is out. that "oh that aint my job p00"

Bottom line I think all American factories need to buckle down and stop outsourcing jobs...they are just hurting themselves in the long run when people cant afford to buy their products because they dont have a job. As far as the UAW I think it has its pros and cons. Right now they are hindering negotiations with the Government as far as GM goes and that might hurt them. If they agree to some cuts the Government might give them a bigger loan or loan them money faster and as a result they might not have to close plants and eliminate jobs. Thats just my opinion though!

First... let's out the unions...Good, bad or ugly...We don't need them.

Second.. Untill we ALL start buying AMERICAN... NOTHING ...will change...Built here, bought here. I think were ALL headed for poverty.

I've been working for my employer for 15 years. I've been thru a fire that destroyed HALF of our shop...And THIS is the first time I've been worried about my employment.

Good luck and God speed To everyone who has lost there job.
