I should be there with the rig, but if it's not done, I'll still be out there! Looks like dunes would be around the 29th....

good idea on the shafts man
I opened up my old rear axle housing and discovered a Richmond Carrier. I knew the guy had work done when he added chromoly shafts and the 4:10 gearing, but I didn't know he when crazy with the carrier and ring gear too. I'll get a pic. It surprised me pretty good.

He put a decent amount of money into it all around. The motor that is in it is a crate 350 that he had installed new. It now has about 35K on it. It doesn't surprise me on the axles either, because he acted as if the 4" lift and 33's were a big deal and would need beefy gears. lol. Same with the chromo shafts. Oh well.

I drove it out of the garage this morning! I have to have my already lengthened drive shaft re-lengthened for the front. The rear is working well. All of my brakes are put back together and I have a sticky caliper on the driverside front. Getting ready to fab a new roll bar design in to make it more "roll safe" as opposed to the "beauty bar" that was in it. I've got to find some 2" square stock steel for the rest of the body mounts and the roll bar project. If anyone knows of any without having to pay new price of steel, let me know. 3/16"s thick would be fine. I also want to replace the 1350 yoke on the 14bolt with a 1410. The guy who owned the axles before me welded a washer into the yoke as a u-joint keeper. It probably works just fine, but I want good original condition stuff under there so I don't have to wonder.  Here are a couple pics from today.

In this pic, you can see the black line on the fender where I'll be trimming the front of the fender and flare too. I'm also gonna cut a bit in the rear of the front fender for more clearance too.

Weather is looking good. I may just leave the top off. Ya know, Goin Topless! I have a bad bleeder so I couldn't get the right front bled right too. We'll see what happens. Got today and tomorrow to get er' done.

Got someone to work on the d-shaft tomorrow I think. Lastly, I need to change out the rear pinion yoke...None of it is time consuming, just need parts etc. Not too worried about getting done.

Thanks guys. It's coming along steady. Got the new spindle nut kit in yesterday. Drove it around to check it out. Went to replace the rear u-joint with a ba$tard joint, but it wasn't quite right. Gonna exchange the joint today and should have that part taken care of. Then comes the fender trimming!
