corect me if im wrong but you took the stock leaves out and put chevy leafs under it? wouldnt that ruin the purpose of haveing the 1.5 ton? unless you just wanted the axles and body? but then wouldnt it have been easier to set the axles under a suburban or longbox frame with fully working drivetrain and put the body on that, either way cool project and good work, im just wondering where your comeing from b/c i might be able to get my hands a 2.5ton and trying to get ideas of wich way to takle it
if ya cant dodge it, then ram it

BigFrank

i changed  the leafs beacuse they were 2 inch wide xabout 8inch tall spring packs that were intended to haul weight just like a 6x6 or other 1 1/2 or 2 1/2 ton truck   i used chevy truck springs and mounts beacuse thats what i had   and my bro gave me the springs   as far as putting the axels under a   chevy truck  or watever else i wanted to build somethin different  and this truck that i started with was used and lived  just up the road from  the farm where i grew up   i looked at it every time i drove buy my entire life and thought it was tuff looking way before i was ever intersted in boggin   besides how many other 1940 chevy military trucks have you ever seen at a bog or mounds or anywere else?  its my version of a rat rod  ill break parts when its done but that will give me a reason to upgrade parts like the axels     and it only cost 200 bucks    after rust removal and a trip to the scrap yard  i had 180 in my pocket  if your gonna build somethin make it what you want it dosent have to be high dollar ya see people havin just as much fun in a stock beat up geo tracker as the guys with tractor tires and big blocks   ==thumbsup
