You might ought to run them heads through the machine shop and have the valves and seats checked/ground. I can see in the pics that the exhaust valves are different colors, indicates possibly something going on there..  ;D

different colors? these were run very few hours... could that be just cuz theres very little carbon on em? the heads were literally bein pulled off the motor when i got there to pick them up

Im concerned over the ones that have black exhaust valves. Kind of wonder why.. Also wonder why they only ran them a few hours? When you have 8 cylinders, all 8 should show uniform color, but when you have a few showin darker, it means there might be a little somethin somethin goin on there.. I like the tan ones, looks good. Opinions can differ on just exactly what "re-done" means. Could be nothin to do with the head, but definitely worth lookin into before motor is assembled just to be on the safe side.. Murphy's law.. It does sort of look like the fuel mix was good for the middle cylinders and not so good for the cylinders on the ends. Still a real good deal, great find! JMO  ;D

possibly single plane intake it would get a good mix to the middle 4 but not so much to the outer 4?

on the far left cylinder i had used my finger and rubbed some of the carbon off. the middle 2 were basically untouched and the far right one im pretty sure it had some coolant on it and it looks like some of the carbon was falling off too. i do kinda see what ur talking about tho... and to be clear i had REALLY poor lighting when i took the pictures

My question is how come you didnt upgrade to atleast 3/4??? I plan to SAS my 99 some day when money allows.I already have a 8 lug front, still need the rear and a pass. drop tcase to bolt to my 4l60e.
they make a pass side drop tcase for a 4l60e?? i have one in my 94 and gettin a pass side drop would make getting a axle easier
