i figured it was about time to post a project thread about my truck now that some things are actually getting done with it! its a 92 chevy 1500 stepside. has a 350 tbi with a 700r4 trans and a 241 t-case. yea its not the typical offroad truck with all the fiberglass on it, but i like to do everything a little different! has a full poineer stereo system in it(not for the bass tho! for good overall sound! sub is turned all the way down as it is). self built brush guard(not completed yet, still have to make the bars to go around the lights). fog lights are upgraded to 100w bulbs, off road lights are upgraded to 150w bulbs and are bright as hell!!! has jba headers with a true dual exhaust with small glasspacks. ++peace the plan is to make it an all around rolling workshop and recovery vehicle! startin out with a sas that im buildin with my dad. its no fun if its a kit! ;D and lots more stuff im plannin on doing!  GotMud?

if your not painting them wheels the last thing u wanna do is sand blast them it will destroy the aluminum just a heads up i prollly wouldnt blast them if i painting them just clean um like u did and sand them for preb but dont blast them.

i thought the blasting would do too much to it tho... theres still alot of pitting and discoloration in the wheel in the slots where sandpaper wouldnt do anything cuz its textured from when it was cast. i was gonna get a self blaster and just turn the pressure waaaaay down

FYI hrspwrjunkie355 Mag wheels and Aluminum wheels are different. Mag wheels are made with Magnesium, which is very different from aluminum, however they should not be blasted either.

If those are Magnesium wheels, the last thing you want to do is blast them. But there's a great website to read on for restoring mag wheels, well worth reading!
